TNEA 2014 Rank list.

The rank list for the colleges in Tamil Nadu is announced on June 16,2014. This rank list for TNEA is calculated only after the normalization of the marks of class 12th. In addition to it, the Rank list for TNEA is also based on several other factors like community categories, inter-se merit guidelines as well as reservation guidelines too. The names as well as the details of the students along with their normalized scores will be displayed in the Rank list of TNEA 2014.

Normalization for the TNEA is based as follow:

In case the marks secured in Physics by a student of the State Board of Tamil Nadu is 100 and on the other hand the marks secured by a student from some other board is 90,
then the highest marks for both of them will be equal to 100. In case a student of some other board secures 60 marks in Physics against the highest marks that are obtained by a student of the same board is 90, then the marks of the former student will be considered to be 66.66 as calculated below:

(100 x 60) / 90 = 66.66

Once the normalization of the marks obtained by the students in different subjects is compiled and a common merit list is announced. On the other hand the candidates who appeared from the national boards like CBSE and ICSE, the highest marks obtained by these students in the relevant subject at the National Level alone will be sufficient and they will be taken into account for normalizing.

The Rank List for TNEA 2014 is calculated only after considering the following parameters:

Categorization according to the Community, Marks scored in Math, Physics, Chemistry and the marks obtained in the 4th subject (Biology or Computer Sciences), Date of Birth and the TNEA 2014 Random number assigned to the candidate.

The TNEA Rank list for the year 2014 will be prepared out of a total of 200 marks.
