PLAN preliminary ACT test
The PLAN is a preliminary ACT test that is generally administered in the sophomore year.[citation needed] ACT, Inc. claims that it predicts success on the ACT. It is viewed as the ACT's equivalent of the PSAT. The test consists of four separate parts: an English (grammar) section, a Math section, a Reading section, and a Science section. Each portion of the test has a different number of questions and a different amount of time allotted. The PLAN test is scored between 1-32 and is determined by a composite scoring system much like that of the ACT, based on the scores received on each of the categories of the test.
